I wonder if it didn't sell as well as they anticipated when they re-released it. The pleated tote was also re-released at the same time and they just brought it out in the new summer colors- maybe the pleated tote did really well?

If that's the case, it is probably because the print/pattern selection was so skimpy. Not much choice there. Why isn't it offered in the Breast Cancer Foundation pattern, "Ribbons"? That print should be offered in all bags to help. I bought one in "Plum Crazy" for my cousin who loves that print. If they offered it in Ribbons, Flower Shower, Lola, etc I would have snatched it up in a heartbeat. DRAT!

Villager has been my fave for years - I have a bunch. I got it most recently in the Canterberry Magenta - beautiful - been carrying it since after Christmas/New Years.

eBay is a wonderful source of Vera bags - including Villager - much bigger selection that Vera B or QVC. And usually cheaper.

You just can't beat this bag. It's beyond me why on earth they'd discontinue it when it is loved by so many.

If it came out in the newer patterns like Clementine, Venetian Paisley, Petal Paisley, and as Poppet1 mentioned, Ribbons, plus others like the Canterberry's, I'd be all over them.

PLUS I'd love to see them return in favorites such as Symphony in Hue, Twirly Bird Pink, Make Me Blush, Poppy Fields, and other oldies but goodies.

In my opinion, the Villager and the Betsy were the best, at least for me. They both had everything I wanted and needed.

I can't say it enough - eBay. For retired VB styles and patterns. You can't beat it. For anything actually. I just bought two swim tops from Lands End - they were out of the color bottom - wine - that would go with both - got it on eBay. And I love the Spanx ""Spoil Me Cotton"" bodysuit (originally got from QVC) - can't find it anymore in my size - QVC and elsewhere. Got 2 at eBay. Recently bought an Isaac Mizrahi Bridgehampton crossybody bag on the Bay also. Cheaper too usually.
