Trying shoes barefoot

I just made the big mistake of tuning into Jane's shoe show and seeing her trying on shoes with nothing on her feet--I can't think about buying those shoes. How does everyone else feel? Are they second hand now?? Are they still pristine, out-of-the box clean??
