Re: The Problem with Skechers

I had a couple of pair and never again. Once I walked over some prickly bougainvillea branches in my yard and the stickers went right through the sole. No support either.

I have bought several pairs of these over the years, locally and from QVC.  So yesterday a couple pair turned up from the dungeons under  the furniture.  Cool, I thought, something different to wear around the house from my go to Easy Spirits.  One day later I've given up  They still HAVE NO SUPPORT.  After one broken ankle and a knee replacement on the other leg, plus a balance problem to start with, wearing Skechers is playing with fire.  Off to the donation bag these all go before I end up in the hospital again. So, QVC buyers, why don't you suggest to this affordable shoe line that they come up with something with support.  They can start with stiffening up the bouncy soles.

I knew u were going to say that. A couple of years ago, I purchased 2 pair of Sketchers slip-ons from the Q (first time buying this brand). Both of my feet pronated so I returned. I've been wearing Rykas for many years and the last couple of years, purchased 7 pair of Ryka tennis shoes from Zappos - perfect fit. I just don't understand why Sketchers is so popoular. My dental hygenist also wears Sketchers.

I love Ryka's! Lots of support!! I can and do wear some styles of Sketcher's for short amounts of time. Not the slip-ons, they have zero support! They definitely need to up the arch support on their shoes!

I agree, NO more Skechers!   I feel sure this shoe brand contributed to my plantar fasciitis.

A shoe store near where I live, owned by 2 sisters, specializing in hard to fit feet, and in business for 25 plus years say Sketchers are not good shoes for that reason.

Sketches are pretty but cheap and offer no support.

Re: The Problem with Skechers

I have a couple of pairs of the Go Walks  At first, I loved them.  After wearing them for a month or two last summer, my legs began to ache and my knees hurt.  I looked online to see if others had the same problem and found out many others did, too.  I do not think they are particularly well-made, but I know many people love them.

Re: The Problem with Skechers

Skecher insoles are not good. I like Skecher shoes but I also take the glued down insoles out of those shoes and replace them with supportive insoles with arch support. I think Skechers cuts corners on their insoles which is too bad because they do make some nice looking shoes.

Because I have tendonitis in my left achilles, I also ripped out a piece of plastic at the back of the heel so it wouldn't rub the back of my heel. The inside lining at the heel was only glued down and easy to undo and I used pliers to rip out a plastic cresent shaped piece of plastic from the back of the heel. Now the shoes fit me better.

Re: The Problem with Skechers

I stumbled on Propet brand shoes last summer after 4 surgeries ending in a fused ankle. I need a Mary Jane type shoe since my foot doesn’t wiggle any longer. I found them on Amazon but Q sells some now. styles are very ortho looking, but the Mary Janes I have have much better support than Skechers (which I wore for years).
