Where is Sue? What did I miss?

Sue can't be on tv every time they have the DB show, so they brought in another rep.

Interesting. That is the very same answer I received when I asked about the new rep for WEN. I am detecting a trend here. It seems that the Q is choosing new reps for their very best selling brands. And, they always have a very awkward start. Why aren't seasoned Pros chosen with behind the scenes work similar to what the new hosts receive. After all it does not seem to be in anyone's best interests to have a rep learn "OJT"

Oh and my granddaughter is an Aries with a large head. Who knew?

Re: Tense Dooney presentation

I don't watch the Wen shows, and I don't know who's hiring the 'tag-team' reps for certain brands. I'd assume the Q hires the representatives for house brands, but for other brands, you have to wonder whether the company or QVC is doing the hiring, or perhaps some sort of joint venture is going on. Either way, it does seem more seasoned folks would be available. You have to wonder if some of these choices aren't being driven by the oft made suggestion that they're trying to appeal to more of a youth market... More times than not, I don't care about the vendor reps, but if they can't be a positive addition they should at least not be a negative, or a reason not to watch.

Re: Tense Dooney presentation

I really like Ashley and feel she is an asset to the Dooney & Bourke brand. I thought the show was fine and didn't notice any tension. As I said before, I think it was damage control to present the Samba because of all the inquiries and the general distaste for the lock design. Ashley is elegant and refined, perfect qualities for a Dooney rep in my opinion! And she presents well and is knowledgeable about the various products. She and Lisa worked well together!

Hey! How are you? I've been to the East Coast, Virginia, NC Outer Banks. I had not been home in almost 30 years. It was good. We forgot how green and lush everything is, because it is rather "sparse" here. Went to the Dooney outlet at Williamsburg. They had lots of coated cotton Rose bags and the Lexingtion bags. They were nice enough to show me the Dooney Fall Catalogue. I want to see the Tessuta line, but someone saw one (on the other forum) and really wasn't impressed. It's $498.00. Nordstrom's has one their website called "Woven Chelsea." It's the Chelsea that you and I own, but woven. They are going to have some beautiful colors, but will wait and see what "Peter will come forth with." Five hundred is an Alto. Coach is determined to delete it's loyal customer base with it's "heartburn desire to become a Premier Band." Ok, they can do it without me. I've got enough Coach bags to last me into "the next eternity."

Re: Tense Dooney presentation

It seems their hiring decisions are based more on TV experience than selling experience. Ashley was a newscaster before her job with Dooney, as have been several of the hosts on the Q.

Product knowledge can be taught, but it does take time. Throwing that into the mix of being on tv, working with hosts, etc., and it's more difficult than it looks.

Personally, I think the show was awkward on Lisa's end and Ashley was doing the best she could. It got to a point where Ashley realized Lisa had taken over whenever she was trying to talk, so she just stopped and let her. I felt bad for her.

I thought the name of the Dooney rep was Susan. I thought she's been the rep for a long time. Did I miss something?

Is there a new Dooney rep?

Yes, her name is Ashley. Very attractive, young blonde. Susan is still representing Dooney, too. Guess hiring her gives Sue a break.

Glad you were able to get home, and you were almost in my neck of the woods! Sounds like you enjoyed the trip and that's great! Oy Coach, what can I say. I don't think they know what they want to do, and frankly, I'm not sure I'm interested any longer in whatever direction they decide upon... I saw the woven Chelsea and it is a beauty but that price! My gosh, I'm afraid that if I wanted to spend that much on a bag I'd probably be looking at other brands... You and me both on the bags into eternity thing... I've been trying to behave lately, after a few months in just ridiculous bag acquisition mode... We'll see how well that works out...
