Glad you ladies enjoyed the gold gala last night because perusal of the Q's offerings through mid-month are positively dismal with absolutely nothing other than a one day gem event that would induce me to watch, even for a minute... Seems to me I remember reading a post somewhere from someone who actually called to complain about the programming and was told they're working on it... Well, it IS a new year and the programming is still miserable... That said, and in the interest of full disclosure... I've been cheating on the Q and hanging out over at SHQ... I have to admit to purchasing a very pretty blue star sapphire ring and a couple of nice looking bags, both of which were on a REAL sale... So all right, there you have it!

Hey, what can I say... We all have needs, right? And when they aren't being met here, well, really, they leave us no choice!

Stevie!!! Glad to see you back Smiley Happy Sounds like you had a little bit of fun last night, which is good. I didn't even care to ask what my friends were planning to do, and they didn't care to ask me. Oh well, not a big deal, just another day and I think it's been pizza, champagne, and my favorite TV show for about 5 years in row now, so I'm used to it. The x tanzanite ring is very unique and yes, the fact that it was gold, convinced me to give it a try, for the price! But now I'm curious about your blue sapphire ring!!! Smiley Happy

EEL, of course I'll keep you posted when I get my pieces. I love the charm bracelet but not sure if it is going to be comfortable and not distracting on a wrist.

That Tanzanite X ring is pretty and I might end up ordering it, especially since I seem to remember it wasn't shipping until March... My ring isn't a sapphire, but a star sapphire, which are quite a bit less costly... Even as far as they go, this isn't a nicer star sapphire, with the star barely visible, but it did turn out to be a pretty ring, set in silver and also has some black spinel... It also came in red star sapphire, but I prefer the blue...

Very pretty! Oh, I didn't realize the "star" in the name actually meant the star in the stone Smiley Happy

Yep, star sapphires are supposed to have a visible star in the stone... On the one I got, it's barely perceptible, but I know it's there and I like the ring, so I'm keeping it. I once had a really fine star sapphire set in a thick gold ring, but it 'walked off' one fine day and I've never seen another like it... They used to be more popular than they are now, but I've always wanted a 'replacement' of sorts, even though the other one was a really pretty soft green.

Oh my, stevieb! I LOVE this ring! Congratulations on your new very pretty ring! Smile My aunt gave me a blue star sapphire when I was a teenager and by gum I have no idea where it went...

Thanks EEL. This one more or less was a fit of nostalgia and yet I do think it's quite pretty. There are certainly gemstones I'd far prefer at this point in my life, but something about it reached out and hooked me and the price wasn't bad...

Well, the lapis charm bracelet has arrived and it's really pretty....but also pretty heavy. And I guess it's not really an every day piece.... as far as the gold bracelet I got, I was nicely surprised to see it was made in Peru (not China) but I can't say I was wowed by it.... it's flat/domed design. And not something you can easily see in the picture. I actually thought it would be the same as the edges of it but it has a woven design in the middle. And it's pretty light so not sure of the quality but it's 14K gold for $225. I couldn't find anything remotely similar for such a low price on other websites.... I'll have to take those two out to decide whether they are the keepers....
