I found that they don't all work the same for me. I found myself still slipping and sliding when I used the spiral- like springs. The ones that have the screws work the best for me but they are hard to find now. I still have mine from years ago. I can walk down my steep drive way on the ice with confidence using them. The ones that look like thick thumb tacks also work well but I don't feel as confident with those as the ones with the screws.

Thanks for the info and suggestions on the snow and ice Cleats.   I will invest in some for me and my son.  Thanks again.

They all work.  Still hard to put on.  All of them are the same way too.  Have yet to invent one that is easy to put on.  All of them are killers on smotth floors.  Now I'd love for someone to invent something to prevent that!

I am a runner and found it best to invest in the Yak Trak PRO version.  They are sturdier to withstand the pounding of running, yet work just as well for walking.  For even worse conditions, the Yak Trak EXTREME are great!  I also walk a lot with my mom and dog, and my mom also wears the PRO set.  I feel like you never have that feeling like you're going to slip -- even when it's a sheet of ice outside.

As for putting them on and off, I keep mine on a dedicated pair of shoes at all times.  It's just too time consuming to put on and remove.

They are great for icy sidewalks....I have one pair of shoes that I keep mine on all winter.
