Can anyone recommend a sturdy safe slipper that has a back?  Don't want clogs or mules. Looking for support and comfort. TIA.

I like LLBean slippers. They are expensive but well made and comfortable.

I like Spenco (now Revitalign).  They have arch support and the metetarsal arch.  Can be worn outdoors.

Often cheaper on Amazon.

Depending what you want to spend...

LL Bean

Ugg (gave bf leather, fur lined, moccasin style a couple years ago...$100 (then)...nice looking, well-made, have lasted well.)

Both above on the pricier side, but well made, warm, built to last a while...you're paying for better materials than the cheaper brands, which are all faux.

Less Pricey, but still good..

Mine were slip ons but perhaps they have closed back options...last year I bought the "Bob's" line of Sketchers and I love them...the comfort, warmth and support. I've worn them a lot, and they still look and feel good. (I do think many are backless, but I haven't looked for closed type; you may find them.)

Spenco/Revitalign, on Amazon, as someone else says here, also always good support.

Good luck!

Talbots has wonderful slippers bought these last year the most comfortable slipper I've ever had.  Currently 1/2 off, price is now $44.75.  Price may expire tonight, besides blue and red comes in a champagne color:

Their flannel slippers are wonderful too, beautifully made and comfortable but not as soft as the suede ones mentioned above.

@RetRN   A few yewars ago I bought a really nice full pr of slippers (not clogs nor slip-ons) from Skechers. liked them so much I bought a 2nd pair, faux fur all along the top. ANd I wash them in the washer, hang on my line to dry. Really nice, you can go out for a quick step to the mailbox.

Pull up Skechers and see what you can find.

Vionics Claribel

They're a firm sole moccasin style with a deep, sturdy heel cup. They were a TSV about a year ago. I've worn them every day since I received them.  I have neuropathy so I need the stability they provide.  My feet always feel cold.  The slippers are lined so that feels good.  I found the same slippers on Amazon and bought backups.

I used to wear Ugg Ansley slippers but now they seem to run 1/2 size small, at least for me.

My favorite slippers are Ugg boots. I'll wear the classic ankle high boots until it's highs are in the 40s.

Then I switch to Ugg Classic Short boots. They go up over my ankle and keep my feet and lower legs warm.

I wear Ugg Tasman clogs when it's in the 50s or warmer.

My last pair of Ugg Classic Short boots lasted 10 years. All I did was replace the insole once a year.
