I understand shipping is expensive these days but shoes are one thing that have to fit right 100% of the time and I have come to realize I need to buy where there is free shipping and free returns. Most shoes on qvc are $5.50 to send and $6.95 to return. I'm not spending $12.45 to end up with nothing. You cannot even depend on a brand as styles fit differently.
.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but I would rather they, qvc, add the shipping price to the price of the shoe (which I understand I am paying) and offer free returns. This is what they do with food. Food is expensive so they add it in and tell us it's free shipping. In my head I feel better that way.

They have lost my business when it comes to shoe buying. I hate throwing money away.

I like to buy when there is free shipping. Saves money.

Re: Shipping Costs for shoes

@Catch71 - I understand exactly what you're saying about buying shoes from QVC and I agree.

Many years ago, they offered a Clark's sandal as a TSV.  Well, I went to the Clark's store in a nearby town and tried on the exact sandal to make sure of the size.

The QVC price was a lot lower than the store's and I liked the sandals so much I ordered two pairs.

Guess what???  The sandals QVC shipped me were so big, it was ridiculous.  They were at least two sizes too big, but I didn't get a refund of the shipping charges, even though I pointed out the discrepancy.  They were "marked" the size I ordered, so that was that.

I didn't buy shoes from QVC for years because of that.  I had a pair of White Mountain shoes that were so narrow I couldn't get my feet into them and I take a normal medium width.  I donated them, rather than lose the shipping charges.  (They didn't even fit one of my relatives who wears a narrow.)

Now I only order when I know a brand so well, that I'm fairly sure they'll fit and usually on free shipping days.  (Mostly, I just order boots that have some leeway.)

I agree - nearly $13 to try on a pair of shoes is too much.  And exchanging for a different size can be hit or miss.

Oh...I do order from "As Is", when the price is so much lower, I can take the risk.  I've had good luck with that, getting new (with tags) shoes and boots for a bargain price.

@Catch71 try Amazon, Zappos, Skechers site, major department stores, etc - all offer free or better shipping deals than QVC

99.9% of the time I now buy if they have free shipping because of the cost.  I have left plenty of items not purchased because of the shipping cost.

Shoes are a purchase that you really have to try on first.  Knowing that, why would anyone purchase them and complain about shipping and return costs?  Just don't buy them from QVC and save yourself the hassle.  They aren't going to change anything and I don't think they should.

@nycalady So true. If I see something on QVC, I google it to see who else has it.  I often do find it with free shipping & returns.

Re: Shipping Costs for shoes

Shipping is always included in the total price.  What you pay bottom line, item, shipping and tax is all the same.  It's the total amount you pay.  You are being fooled if you don't just add it all up and say would I pay that--no matter how they get to the final figure it's all about what you pay.

Reurn cost is if you would pay to return it or not.  Otherwise, it is ONE price.  How come you think car dealers add paperwork costs, undercoating, destination charges, etc.?  To lull you into being focused on something other than what you are really paying.

QVC often gives you FREE shipping when that is less than a 20 percent off might be.  QVC doesn't must do sales.  They have a long history of price manipulation and obfuscation.

Re: Shipping Costs for shoes

I have completely flat feet and I am very hard to fit.  I have tried several times but I am so tired of paying over $12 to try on a pair of shoes.  No More.

Re: Shipping Costs for shoes

Unless I already have the same shoe from the same brand, I do not buy shoes from TV.  Also shipping costs are already factored into the price of the item so any additional s/h is pure profit.

I rarely if ever buy anything where shipping is additional.
