It seems like most of the nicer looking shoes and boots for this season were suede. Even though I sprayed, let them dry and sprayed again...It snowed last week and this week.
If this is winter for next few months...only snow boots for me!

I like suede shoes and boots, but will not wear them when it rains or snows. I don't like spraying protective chemicals on my footwear, that should be done at the factory, given how expensive the footwear is.

I love suede because it has give and is less prone to rub blisters on my feet. I try to buy suede as much as I can.
When the weather is bad and I am out of the house, I wear a pair of Columbia ankle length boots that are suede and a quilted fabric. They are 100% waterproof.
i do not wear my nice leather shoes out in bad weather either. I try to keep my shoes in good shape. Water, snow and salt wiill ruin them in a quick minute.
Oh, Spring....hurry up and get here. I have had my fill of winter already.

If you like the look of suede try Blondo boots. They are truly waterproof and very comfortable.

@Carmie I “what if” when choosing shoes each morning. 40% chance of rain, won’t risk my suede footwear. So have hardly worn them..purchased 4 pr. flats/wedges and 3 pr. suede ankle boots....all on the shelves still stuffed w/ tissue.

I love suede because it takes color so well.
However, I don't wear it in "weather."

I love suede footwear, but I never wear it in bad weather. I have treated mine in the past with one of those sprays, but I stopped doing it, because it’s not needed if I avoid wearing them in rain or snow. I tend to buy classic footwear so if I don’t wear them as often, and take good care of them, I will be able to wear them for several years.

I bought 3 new pairs of boots in the fall and I have only worn 1 pair once because they are all made from suede.....
This winter has been very wet with snow...sleet and rain. I don't want to ruin them the first time that I have them on....
I wear my treated leather and wipe them each time I come back in the house...
