There they went yesterday. Seven pair of Sam Edelman ballet flats into the donate basket. Over the last few years, avoided wearing them. Felt like walking barefoot...no support at all. Most were purchased at Nordstrom Rack, but still, hated to see them go. It's comfort over style now.
Last year purchased the Clark's Espadrilles (this year's item # A 288982) in red and just ordered the sand. All set. Will wear sand with almost all summer clothes except black. Don't wear white shoes. They make my too big feet look like barges. I will say these Clark's are like walking on clouds. I think my feet got boney, lost fat as I got older. Wear same size, but need the padding. Will sometimes add a Dr. Scholl's padded inner sole, too.

I bought an expensive pair of Sam Edelman calf hair sandals. I think I only wore them once in the house. They were so uncomfortable. I should have taken them back, but never did.
I finally donated them. I would never buy this brand again. They are pretty to look at but hurt like Hello.
Most of the time in summer, I wear Merrell sandals. The terran's are my favorite. They are super comfortable and I don't think you're supposed to but, I throw them into the washer. They come out clean like new.
I have a few " for good" dresser sandals, but only wear them when I have to.

@Shanus I think we all lose fat in the balls of our feet.
Years ago, I remember reading in my magazines that women in NYC who walked blocks to their jobs in high heels were having the fat taken from their butts and injected into the ball of their feet to relieve the pain!
You could have developed an issue with your metatarsal which can give you terrible soreness in the ball of the foot. I did after years of teaching and walking on tile or terrazzo floors. A metatarsal pad in my shoe took the pain away.
These are stick ons from Amazon. They're in every shoe I own.

I have never found any shoes by Sam Edelman to have any real substance (remember Sam & Libby?).

@ECBG Fine in other shoes, just saying walking on cardboard is not for me anymore. I have Clark's, Earth Origins, Merrell, Naturalizer, etc. Comfie shoes...a few going out to dinner ones aren't too bad, but usually have my tennies in the car in case someone in the group wants to go walking after we eat. 🤪

I have a pair of Circus by Sam Edelman thong flats that I love and wear often. They are very comfortable.

@Janey2 Thanks, but no thanks. I won't be purchasing them anymore.

I also bought several pairs of Sam Edelman ballet flats. Have not worn one pair. Everytime I put a pair on I think they aren't as comfortable as my L.L. Bean flats. So I put on the L.L. Bean flats.
Guess it is time to donate the Sam Edelman flats.
Too bad the donation place is closed. My love seat is piled high with stuff to be donated. I would like to get rid of the stuff before I change my mind.

The Clark’s are cheaper elsewhere, not the Edelman’s.
