When they present this bag, I wonder how (or if) they will deal with the cracking handle issue that plagued the first bag. I doubt they will tackle the issue head on but maybe they'll at least say they have a new manufacturer and drop a hint that these bags won't be a problem.

Based upon the picture, it looks like the handles are attached to the jump ring with a folded over piece of leather, and any plastic core that creates the tubular handle ends above the seam that you see above the jump ring. I don't know how that will wear long term, but at least there does not appear to be any sealant edge subject to torsion, which is what caused the cracking of the sealant before.

Nope, I just looked at the closeup of the 'as is' GILI Roma 2. It appears that the handles are the same. That is NOT a good thing. I am really starting to like this style of handbag and would like to have one in black, but I'll just buy another Prix de Dressage.

If the issues are corrected I would try this bag in a minute.

What is the price of the TSV?

LADIES!
If you look really closely at the pic of the pink bag you can make out a magnetic closure

outline on the leather!! YEA!! I also think they might have changed the handles so they won't crack if you look at the way they are attached to the jump rings.

This might be the new bag!! Hope they have a sand or off white for the summer!

It is showing Gili TSV in May...I just saw that on the listing page so if she said it was this bag I guess that is correct. It however does not show a photo or give description. I still would like to know if this one has closure...has she addressed this issue or the handles on her site?

I bought the ostrich and the black when it was the TSV last time. I love them both, have had no issues with the leather cracking, and I wear them all the time. I hope those new colors are not too pretty, I don't think my bank account can handle it.

I doubt if anything will be said.

On top of that, it is very likely that this bag is from the same manufacturer. Think about it. We've all heard the statement that these TSVs have an extended planning horizon, possibly up to one one year in advance. All the items are made in China, and that means long lead times. Heck, just getting them on the boat and through customs has to take at least six weeks. I don't recall the exact date of the last GILI Roma 2 TSV, but it seems like there has not been a sufficient period of time to identify and investigate a new manufacturer, get the materials ordered and shipped to that manufacturer, and have a number of test runs of the new bag. I wouldn't be surprised if this bag comes from exactly the same place as the prior ones.
