Patent leather

This is my first time to post on the boards but I am a faithful reader and gotten a lot of good advice, so I need the opinion of all you fashionistas. I got a patent Coach bag in cashmere color yesterday at Macy's for a great price. I like the size and color of the bag, the color will work through fall, I can't decide on the patent. What's your opinion of patent bags?
