I got the bag today Indigo very nice but the smell is not good and it has 2 inside zippers and they don't have a pull on them! The side is open on both is this common? Thank you

I received mine in the Sand and it too has an odor. My husband said it's the silicone leather protector and will dissipate. I certainly hope so. Even the dust cover smells of it and really intensely. Will wash that. Regarding the bag "being open" on the sides I know what you mean. On each side of the flap. I have seen this before on other bags and it's not a super wide gap, imo and it doesn't bother me.

Agree with first reply, but the bag should have zipper pulls. you could try it for a few days to make sure you like it then call cuatomer service and ask to exhange for another one, and get your return shopping and shipping formthe replacement refunded.
