It's cute. I like the embossed leather style, but my wallet wouldn't.

Re: New Coach Bags on Coach Website

I just bought the Preston mini at Macy's in the silver/white/blue oxford! I received 25% off for Macy's pre-sale, which begins June 4. My bag is ready for me to pick up on June 4 and I can't wait. It is so cute and just my style. Now I'm on the hunt for the right matching accessories. I'm one of those people who likes to match their unique bags with matching wallets. I found the wallet I like at coach.com. Macy's doesn't carry it so I can't get it at their pre-sale price. The wallet at coach.com is as much as the original price of the bag! I'm having a hard time justifying the price of the wallet, but I know that if I can't find it on sale before June 4 I'll be going to the Coach store to pick up that wallet, lol!

Coach is in big trouble; they are losing a tremendous amount of market share to Michael Kors, Kate Spade, etc. There were Coach bags at my local DSW store at discount prices although they were probably the factory outlet's goods, which are generally the material with leather trim bags. As a result, Coach has hired a new Executive Design Director ( I cannot remember his name but you can google it) and Coach reports that you will begin to see his inspiration in their new Fall line!

Stuart Vevers is the new design director for Coach, and his vision is to bring back the Coach Heritage of fine leather (think Bonnie Cashin) with a modern twist appealing to more of the US population by giving consumers the $300 to $425 pricetag. There will still be higher priced lines depending on the leather and exotics used, but to compete with Michael Kors and Kate Spade, this pricing is required.

I'd like to see some nice bags from Coach at more affordable prices...they have been increasing steadily over the last several years to ridiculous prices, and i'm a Coach girl. They have gotten way out of hand...but I'll believe it when I see it!

I haven't bought one yet but I really like the mini preston. Did you buy the one with edging in another color? I might take a chance and buy one online though I prefer seeing it first. Don't know if our Macy's will have it; will probably have to go to Minneapolis which isn't far, just a pita. Smile

I just don't see the attraction to a Michael Kors handbag. The bright colors this spring with a magnetic closure were OK but the single center flap was the only material that actually closed the bag, it was a great design but if you handbag dumps, you'll lose everything.

I also noticed that Michael Kors bags are deeply discounted vs department store Coach bags rarely go down the huge percentages but maybe that's my area. I also believe with the factory outlet bags, I'll buy a coach but won't pay the $500 price for a retail store bag, but heck, that's me.

I did however buy a Kate Spade and of all the Dooney's, Coach bags, that one has gotten the most compliments. Oh, and in love with the new Brahmin bags, I believe the Fuji blue is what they call it.
