Will not buy anything with hook and loop. First of all I think it cheapens the look of the shoe. Years ago I had slippers with a hook and loop and after a few wearrings the hook and loop loosened when I was wearing them. I almost killed myself because I stepped out of the slipper. would rather spend more for a buckle. The hook and loop might be good for those with dexterity problems but that's it.

I would never buy a Velcro shoe unless I become incapacitated.

I can use either or. It seems like it's all velcro today since that's cheaper.

One thing they could do is put some padding in all shoes.

I can feel all the grooves on the bottom of my feet from the rubber soles. It makes my feet hurt. I think my fat pads on my feet are all gone?

Shoes used to be comfortable.

I love hook and loop as well as the elastic stretch closures instead of laces.

@Nightowlz.  Good point, I've noticed the lack of padding too.  The very worst of my collection is Miz Mooz shoes.  I have several pairs of ankle boot and can feel every pebble on a path.

None of my shoes have Velcro, buckles or ties.

I don't like or need a shoe that is tight around my foot and refuse to buy any that are that style.  I live in mules, clogs or sandals.

not for me. I love the look but I am no longer flexible enough to fasten buckles on shoes. I have a lovely aqua colored pair of sandals with an ankle strap that buckles.

I've wound up with a cramp in my side several times trying to fasten or unfasten them.

I'm eating the words I wrote about favoring buckles.  Today I received a really pretty fisherman's sandal I ordered from Macy's.   They're perfect in every way, even have an arch support and no pedi needed.  However I have a stiff knee that I can't bend and I can't get the darn things buckled.  I guess I'll figure something out.

@Carmie.  That type of shoe is terrible for your feet.  No support for your arch or, more importantly, for your foot.  I wouldn't last long in them.
