My question for Dooney is: IF IT'S SO 'WONDERFUL', WHY DON'T THEY SELL (and they never have sold) THIS BAG ON THEIR WEBSITE or in their stores ???

The answer: it's cheaply made (I hated the cheap pink cotton lining) along with the awful closure that many reviews said, it broke! Really? Then, HOW can one close the bag??? The total inducement/enticement for the sale of this bag IS the kiss-lock accessory with the credit card compartments (which IS also available at the dooney/ILD sites, with the colors varying, along with their descriptions...BUT most are under $50 at any given time). Oh, yes, and we hear the lies that THAT wallet is exclusive to the Q >>> UGH, HUH !

We ALL know better.

Don't know what happened to my post! Suppose it's in infinity somewhere. The Logo Lock, "let me count the ways or should I say the colors." Like you said Stevie, "it's taken on a life of it's own." Maybe something will arrive on Dooney's radar Stevie that peeks your interest. I have noticed sometimes when Sue has a lot of Dooney shows scheduled and "it's the beginning of a new season" there will be a bag dump on Dooney and Zappos. Just seems like to me Peter has been kinda slow in showing some of the new colors, although he's been able to get some of the new collections out. Maryebrown, that's a good question about the Logo Lock and not being sold on Dooney's website. Maybe they have to keep one on the Q that will always sell and be avaliable.

Actually, ALL, I've just sort of made a choice to forego Dooney at this point. Not saying I'll never buy another, but some of the directions in which they've chosen to go recently just leave me shaking my head in wonderment. There are still bags I'd enjoy owning, but there are also a whole range of other brands out there I like as well or better.

I might have tried the bag by now but for the logo lock itself, which yes, I too have read more than a few reviews indicating it broke, and yes, then there's that unfortunate choice of lining. Given the new shipping policy, this is one that's destined to never darken my doorstep...

The light grey 'darkened my doorstep' 3 years ago and the pink lining made 'the elephant in the room' metaphor even more comical...

It was a huge mess of a bag that puddled when it was empty, and I was NOT going to fill it up with things that I didn't need to carry, just to make it look like a "normal" handbag. It is a shoulder bag (and the 8" strap drop is awkward enough to begin with) and extremely hard to get over a winter jacket. The lock also flapped around, if it was not in the "locked" position...and that can/will cause bruising because it is very heavy. OUCH! (BTW I have a Dooney AWL equestrian shoulder bag, and I had to remove the hanging duck fob because it caused bruising on my arm).

It didn't take me long to box it up and return it (in perfect condition) for the next buyer, who I suspect probably returned it for the same reasons...

Lastly, there are less than 4000 reviews for the bag yet how many have been sold on Q??? 80,000 or so? As a buyer, that raises a red flag, and begs an answer to the question: if this bag is so wonderful why aren't there more posters singing its praises, with positive reviews ?

This "hot pick" notion is really getting old (just like the Q's Programming). They can bring it back, season after season, with new colors but it still walks like a duck and quacks like a duck (but it's a LAME duck, IMO) -- A clunker that should be retired (or sold at the Dooney and Q Outlets).
