@wilma No, you're not alone. I don't care for or wear sandals. I never did. Like you, they're uncomfortable on my feet....like a foreign object. Most people like them, I'm in the minority.

I love sandals and yes I wear them although I have a bone spur on the inner aspect of my right foot. I make my nail salon trip every 2 weeks, get my pedicure and polish so my 73 yo feet look cute ! I just bought 2 new pairs of sandals (Bzees) from HSN and I'm wearing a pair to church tomorrow

Yep I wear the cheapy rubber flip flops...love them, or dressy wedges for work, Birkenstocks, and Eddie bauer flip flops. I don't care for the sparkles and doo dads on my shoes. My aunt wore sandles with "stuff" on them and she had these little size 6, fat feet (well she was overweight all over) that were squeezed into them. Just turned me off and I swore I would not wear those kinds of shoes (with glitter/stones/sparkles) ever.
My feet still look good and yeah, I take care of them myself so for now, I'm still hanging them out in summer!

I have lots of foot issues, and they ease up so much over the summer months when I can wear sandals as often as possible.
I haven't yet become one of those people who wears socks with sandals. I may get there, yet!

I wear sandals, but I don't like flip flops. I don't like anything between my toes and I don't like any sandals that flap on my heel. I polish my own toenails with a nice nude polish and put lotion on my feet everyday.
I do not like to wear closed shoes without some kind of sock. I just don't find that comfortable at all.

I tried many sandals but the straps always trapped my pinkie top and were uncomfortable. I don't know if I can post this but orthofeetdotcom has many comfortable shoes and sandals--open toed, close-toed, slip ons etc. I bought 2 sandals already and they are great. They have memory foam and are adjustable in several ways.

I love my sandals and wear them 7 to 8 months of the year. But I have to have a back strap and adjustable straps on the front of the sandal to fit my narrow feet. Can't wear heels or much of a platform, either. But once I find a supportive, comfortable sandal that doesn't look orthopedic, I'll buy it in every color, ha ha.

I just came back from a European river cruise and it was unbelievably hot! I brought supportive walking sneakers but I also brought Ryka platform supportive sandals in black and beige. A632355 To me they were much cooler in the oppressive heat and still comfortable over cobblestone walkways.
Of course I could have worn a lightweight sundress but instead I wore wide leg linen blend pants. I like sundresses on other women...just not me.
Everyone is different with what makes them comfortable.
Hi @haddon9 I hope you had a wonderful time on your river cruise. Yes, I was there too the past few years and it was hot!
You are lucky to have beautiful easy to fit feet!
I find the best of time for European travel is in May and then huüi8bbagain in October. Best.
@Pink123 Thanks so much! I had a wonderful time and even brought home a bonus souvenir... my first ever case of Covid. I'm still on the mend.
I don't know what I was thinking. It was so hot and air conditioning is not common there the way we take it for granted here.
We signed up for Viking Ocean cruise in October of next year. It should be much cooler!

I don't wear sandals but it's because I cant! I always wore sandals and flip-flops! I couldn't wait for the warm weather so I could wear capri pants and sandals and flip-flops! Then a few years ago I developed agonozing pain in first one ankle and then the other and had to undero treatment and now wear custom made orthotics. I can't fit them in anything but sneakers! Grrrrr! I never wore sneakers unless it was in PE class or when I was talking long walks. Now, I have to wear them every day and with everything! I used to have a fast collection of sandals for every occasion and flip-flops of every color and design. It broke my heart when I had to get rid of them. Now, I can't even stand to look at any of them in stores because it makes me so sad!
