Re: Host and her ""Bag throwing contest!"" Lol...

I learn something new about humankind almost everyday on these boards. Such as, people are actually upset and offended by a bag being tossed over to a stagehand to catch.

The stagehands might prefer that to being ordered to appear on camera by David to remove the red Kitchenaid mixer.

It's easy to just toss a bag, grab the handle and hurl it. Clothing would have to be balled up and wouldn't have the proper aerodynamics for easy flight.

Thanks for that! I thought it was obvious but I guess not for some....
I didn't just say clothing. There are plenty of other colored items with the proper aerodynamics to be thrown when colors sell out! I thought that was obvious when I stated other items. I guess not though....

You don't have to dignify your response to posters with the Honey Boo Boo mentality.

Anyone who does not like to look like stupid QVC shopper understands what you are saying.

Wow. I guess insulting people is OK.....

It's what some people do best!

Sparklestar, so you just came to this thread to bash a poster?

This entire conversation seems pretty silly in the overall scheme of things and life in general. A couple thoughts come to mind: (1) did anyone think about what happens to the animals who give their lives for these bags? (2) I don't think the designers (Isaac, Mr. Dooney, whoever) really care what we do with their bags once we pay for them. Bottom line, they're here to make $$.

Good...

That means your days not wasted on foolishness like opening, reading and posting on a shopping forum.

All due respect, the majority of the conversations on this forum are silly.

If you are going to throw out the sacred animal card let us know if you do not use or eat anything that contains animal life. The generality is just way to glittering.

OMG! Not "bag throwing" again....lol This never goes well. Bizarre though it might seem, there are women out there who just can't take any type of cruelty to bags....lol

I've never had anyone in a brick and mortar store throw a handbag when trying to sell it to me. If they had I would walk away from that store. Sorry but nothing about that makes me LOL and that type of host/vendor behavior is why I seldom watch any of the TV presentations any more. Please don't respond and tell me I have no sense of humor or what is ""fun"" because I have fun and thoroughly enjoy life.

I do remember watching Joy Mangano throw her corelle plates on the floor to demonstrate how durable they were when one loudly shattered - that was worth a LOL.

I agree. Personally I do give a lot of thought to animals - I tend not to buy leather bags and I do not eat meat. But I certainly use animal products. Most people do since it's very difficult not to.

And also - This thread really isn't about what we do with our bags once we pay for them. It's about what the hosts do when presenting them. Of course money is the bottom line. It's a shopping network!

The point many of us are trying to make is that the bottom line would probably benefit from the bags being handled on-camera as though they were quality items rather than playthings. If the goal is to make money - and of course it is - then they should be presenting the items in the most respectful way possible.

I think it's pretty obvious that designers just want their bags to sell well, and don't care at all what we do with them in our own homes. Once the money is in their pocket, it doesn't matter to them. And no one here has said otherwise.
