My Son has two pairs of these shoes.  He loves them.  He is into comfort and would not wear them if they were not acceptable.

 

He bought himself his first pair and I bought another pair - in the same style but different fabric - for Christmas

Don't know about support but they are the must have shoes in GD Jr High, especially the glitter ones. I see Jr High and HS kids in my town wearing them  I got Grans daughters on Amazon to get them to her quickly and DD said she hasn't worn anything else.  They sure are cute.  Thinking of a non glitter ones for myself.  To me they are ageless

I just went to a wedding and the bride wore a  white pair with her beautiful formal wedding gown .   

It looked just like what you are imagining ...
