That's why I don't buy multiples of the low rent budget bags and spend it on one great one that I enjoy for years and years!

The first LV I bought in Paris over 20 years ago still looks new and I still wear it! That is value for money. Enjoy your Soho!

You reminded me of how much I have spent on return shipping. I have stood firm, haven't shopped here since the letter came...

Enjoy your bag. No better feeling than having brand new bag that you love. Obviously, the QVC experience just doesn't work for you. You should be happy that QVC sent you "the letter", I imagine that putting an end to the disappointment of receiving things that don't work for you and the hassle of returning them is a good thing.

They also encourage something called a "lean closet" where you donate everything that you do not wear often and only keep a few essential pieces.

The site is www.cuyana.com, for those who are interested. They have an alpaca oversized sweater with asymmetric hem - very stylish - for which you would pay $300 or more at places like Eileen Fisher and Peruvian Connection.

Yes that is exactly the site! I didn't want to act like I am trying to promote something but I was just so impressed with what I found on their website. Their philosophy of having fewer better things really hit me with the thought that I should revisit my closet and seriously consider donating what I do not wear. Which is exactly what I did yesterday. Went through my closet and realized I do not wear soo many things and that other people who have less could use these things more than I ever will. It also made me think for a second about what I spend my money on and how amazed I am with how many quality items there are out there, in general, and with the right sales you can buy fantastic designer quality pieces for sooo much less than something cheap you may buy at other places including some things at QVC that I buy. I had some questions about some of the products that Cuyana sells and also if they give 10% off your first purchase and they said they do not do that anymore :-( nonetheless their totes are still a fantastic price for what you get. I am awaiting the arrival of the black short tote on thursday. Can't wait. Will update if anyone wants to know more about it once I get it. It was really hard at first spending all that money on a tote all at once, no easypays..., but I think I will have this bag for a long time. Also considering their cosmetic travel case set.. Btw Favorite Son, did you see their 100% pima cotton tees! They look like they would be soo soft. I wish they came in an XL, I like my tees to fit more loosely. I just love that site! Lol too bad I can't have one of every thing that they make and have that be the only things that I wear not including jeans which I think they don't make and shoes.

Yes. I looked at everything on that site pretty intently. I don't care for the cotton button front dresses, but I like the sweater, the totes, and the tees. I am leaning towards getting one of the sweaters for the fall. I have decided to buy only two items this fall and don't really have a budget. They have to be made of natural materials, cannot duplicate items already in my wardrobe, and they have to be high quality.

I started clearing out my closets, garage, and house early this year, and it is still an ongoing process. I pared my jewelry down to that which will fit in a pint container with a lid (the kind you get from the deli), and I have not purchased any clothing except pieces which really suit my style and which present a good combination of value and price for me. I bought some Linea whisper knits and a few GILI leather pieces early this spring, because I prefer to wear sweater knit separates - skirts and sweaters and dresses - to work over everything else, and leather is a regular part of my weekly wardrobe.

I only own five handbags now, and after I received that awful Emma & Sophia tote from here last week, I have marked QVC off my list as a source for bags. I don't really need any more large bags, anyway.

Deciding to do more with less is a struggle at first, but once that light bulb goes off in your head you have more money to spend on other things, like paying down your mortgage early, saving more for retirement, or personal training - all of which I am doing. The other benefit that cannot be measured and which you do not appreciate until you see it in your home - is closets with free space and a house that is organized and clutter free. There are some really nice ladies on the Compact 2014 boards over in Beauty Banter. Take a look at that thread when you need some moral reinforcement for sticking to the 'less is more.'

Wow! That is one beautiful handbag. Handbags are my passion and after I retired, I realized I didn't need so many. I invested in a Cole Haan classic. It will serve and last me the rest of my life.

I would love to own this bag - but, priorities in order, must be mindful of my finances.

Congrats! Great looking bag!

What are the measurements?

Thanks! I rounded up and down the 10ths of inches so it is 16" wide, 10" high, 6" deep. Short handles have a 9" drop, crossbody removable strap, not adjustable, is 21". It is perfect for me. Sounds really big but it is so light! And the leather is just luscious.

A few really really good designer bags are all you really need. I have four, two for summer and two for winter and I carry them all the time. They are investment pieces and you just feel so good when you carry them. I am no longer interested in carrying anything from QVC, they seem to be all made in China or parts unknown. Quality never goes out of style, good for you Nikalette
