I stay away from bright bags. I bought a red once & ended up donating it. Then I bought a cobalt blue from Cherie Christmas & returned it. I have a VB I never use & an ocean blue Dooney & Bourke. It's not that they don't go with what I'm wearing, it's that I feel they are loud.

I have a bright red Dooney that I just love. I wear it with just about everything. That's a beautiful bag.

Neutrals will probably always be my favorites but recently I've been drawn to some differently colored bags. My husband surprised me with a Brahmin in peony, a hot pink sort of color. I'm actually enjoying carrying it!

I hope the OP finds her perfect non neutral color.

I would not hesitate to carry it but only if it coordinated with my outfit. I usually wear neutral bags but I do like some of the colored ones too. I don't get that much wear from them as I change them out if they don't go with my outfit.

I carry colored bags but I do coordinate with my outfit. Not match, coordinate. I wear a lot of neutrals and black, so it's easy. I have a tangerine orange bag that I carry in the summer; mostly with khakis and whites and with jeans. I would not carry it with a pink dress. I think color is great but if it just isn't "you"; you really should not force yourself into it. We all have to be true to ourselves. There's no right or wrong when it comes to fashion. If you have to talk yourself into buying a bright bag and if you are already worrying about what to wear with it; you should probably choose a color that you you really like. If you love neutral bags, buy a neutral bag.
