Sorry if this has been brought up before but I just bought the Kingston Hobo in Natural and I know they say it has not been treated but I live in rainy Washington State and really need to treat this for water. Has anyone ever treated their Florentine Leather? Thanks in advance for any help.

Dooney has a care section on their web site (link on bottom of home page). For Florentine leather they say do not treat it. I've read that some people do, but I wouldn't want to take the chance. The natural will darken, for sure, if treated. I don't know what else will happen.

I got my first florentine for Christmas. I went two months without treating it, per the online directions, but gave in a couple of weeks ago and used Kiwi's mink oil to condition and waterproof my black florentine bag. I'm so happy I did, it looks so much better and conditioned. The black looks like it dries out if you don't.

I like the look, but they are too heavy, the leather too thick, and it scratches easily. And the scratches don't come out by just "rubbing it," as the vendor says. I bought one and sent it back for those reasons.

I have the florentine medium zip hobo in natural and I LOVE it.

So gorgeous. I haven't treated it and any scratches have rubbed out easily.

This is my current favorite purse.

The leather is so beautiful.

My Florentine bag has gotten wet numerous times, and as soon as it dries you can't tell it was ever wet. I don't have a problem rubbing scratches out of mine. Maybe I just got used to them...not a big deal, leather scratches. You don't need to baby your bag.
