Florentine Leather question.

For those of you with the Florentine leather (especially natural) how careful do you have to be with the bag? Trying to make a decision to keep or return? Other bags considering croco tassel bag (black), convertible tote black and tan (just not sure I care for the leather on this one). The Florentine leather was an "as is" med toggle satchel and I love the bag and the leather. This one had some issues when it arrived, but I am rather fond of the bag. It is so easy to get inside, has plenty of room. I just wonder if this was treated rather badly (in 30 days, or holiday return policy), or is it the nature of the leather? The croco appears to be in fairly good condition.
