Earth shoes -- why the difference?

When I look at a pair of shoes on Earth's website, the reviews are 5 stars and then I look at the exact same shoe on Q's website and they are 1 or 2 stairs.  The same shoes but miles apart in reviews.  How can that be?  Who do you trust?

Very strange.  I have a slightly wider foot and can't wear the brand, but they're so cute!

Re: Earth shoes -- why the difference?

The reviews on Earth's website may be done in conjunction with factory tours or some other special occasion.  The reviewers may have even received free shoes then written the reviews while under the influence of hype they received.  That's why so many of such reviews are suspect.

@Katcat1

I would trust the reviews on the shoes purchased thru Earth's website.

I take negative reviews with a gain of salt.   Unless all the reviews are very low and basically the same complaint.  I buy what I like and think is a good product and a good price regardless of the reviews.

I like my Earth shoes and have not had the troubles that seem to pop up in reviews on here.  They do, however run narrow.  That has been my experience.

Re: Earth shoes -- why the difference?

I think most people write a review only if they don't like something or it is absolutely fabulous.  Also a lot of poor reviews aren't actually of the product at all, it could have arrived damaged, or it took too long to ship, etc. Some folks write a poor review because the item isn't offered in a certain color, or sleeve length.

But there is a big big big majority in the middle whose voice is never heard that actually like the item just fine.

Re: Earth shoes -- why the difference?

That's a good point @Katcat1 .   I always wonder of the quality of the bulk items that QVC receives from a company.    I once bought a Dell laptop from the Q and it didn't last more than a couple of years.   I brought it to a computer repair shop (reputable) and they told me the inside parts were unrepairable as it was made with very cheap components!

I've read the same things online with some of the La Z Boy chairs so I believe we are not getting the same quality product (hence the price) as if you bought from the actual retailer itself. JMO.

It could also mean that Earth Shoes makes a particular pair for the Q and not other retailers.  This, despite the same look.  Dunno.  Just guessing, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

I trust no reviews--I have to be there in person to try shoes or any clothing, for that matter, on. too much money spent to send it all back.
