Dooney Zippers That Lose Lustre Over Time?

Has anyone who owns Dooney bags ever experienced the zipper shine going dull after a year or so? I own a pink Petunia satchel that I ordered (from Zappos) one year ago. I pulled it out to use it last week, and the zipper track on the top of the bag is tarnished and dull! The rest of the hardware is still shiny and looks like new. I admit that I did not have it stored in a dust bag, but still I was surprised that the zipper track and pull would be dull after only one year. Any ideas on how to restore its lustre??? {#emotions_dlg.confused1}
