I won an ebay auction of a Dooney crossbody bag. It was really like a wallet on a strap. It arrived today, and when I took it out of the box, it looked like just what I had been wanting. When I looked closely, however, the stitching was meesed up in several places and the hardware was tarnished. I am afraid that it is a fake bag. I have several Dooneys and my stitching is always perfect. I know that may of you are Dooney experts and have many, many bags. Have you ever received a bag with little blurbs in the stitching? It was advertised as New without Tags. What would you do if you suspect a fake?
Thanks so much for your help. If it is just a poorly made Dooney, I could handle that. I didn't pay much for it. If it is a fake, that is another story. I have always had good experiences with ebay, and I like to think everyone is honest.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
