Dooney Florentine Question

First of all, I apologize if this topic has been already addressed. After reading all of your comments about the Florentine purses, I would like to purchase one. I hope that you will be able to help me out.

1. Are the bags unusually heavy? I am interested in either the crossbody toggle or the medium hobo.

2.How do these purses hold up if you get caught in the rain or snow? I live in upstate New York and we get a lot of snow and it can rain heavy at times. Will they show water marks?

I appreciate your comments about this. I often read the boards and because of your knowledge, I just sent two purses to D&B in the trade in program. I will probably purchase one of the Cork handbags, but I also need a nice leather one for everyday wear.
