Well, Tissyanne, I am a very happy lady tonight! My Macy's trip was super productive. I not only got lucky and hit a 20% off sale on Dooney, they had my first color choice...and what a difference in the bag surface! Dooney obviously does not ship their purses flat to department stores. I've learned a valuable lesson--never SETTLE! Thanks, all.

So glad this worked out for you! It really does pay to shop around for handbags, in terms of variety, quality and price... Department stores often run sales and so better prices are often available elsewhere and without shipping fees... Worth considering, especially now that we're held responsible for two way shipping. Moreover shipping costs for handbags here didn't see that reduction that some other products did.

I've bought a few Dooney bags at Macy's, and when they bring them out from the back store room, they have always been folded flat. I remember being kind of surprised the first time. If you purchase off the sales floor, of course they aren't flat, though..ha! The stores may store some in the back unfolded, though...not sure. I liked that I knew it was a brand new bag...and those creases did go away!

I purchased a Dooney bag online from Macy's with the 25% off (since I also purchased a wallet, and 2 items gets us 25% off, instead of 20....I'll come back and report how mine came from being shipped by Macy's.
