Conditioning /Protector for Florentine Leather

Hello Everyone. I have been reading on other purse forums that many ladies are treating their FLV leather satchels with Apple conditioner lotions so they don't spot in the rain. Mine has not been used in rain, but our weather is changing quickly and I don't want to take a chance on spots, but DandB say this purse doesn't need to be treated. I am afraid to use anything.

Has anyone here had any experience with spotting in the rain or with treating the leather? I might try a little Apple on the bottom just to see. I did read a few posts here which described spotting from water..that really concerns me. I hate my bags to get spotted......
