Why? Is that some sort of a fashion statement? Nay, to me.

So is your heel actually hanging out there, or is it enclosed and you have a spring-action thing going on?
Either way, I don't think I'm a fan.

The gap between where your foot's heel rests on the shoe and the actual shoe's stiletto heel looks like it would cause the shoe to be unstable and therefore the wearer may be prone to falling. Or else the shoe has to be engineered so that the material has to be really stiff and inflexible to maintain that big wedge of a gap between the top and bottom of the shoe.

No, but I usually love Jeffrey Campbell's designs. He has some interesting heels on his shoes. This year I bought a pair of booties with clear lucite heels, last year a pair with all jewels on the heel. Seems he likes to be artistic in his designs.

I haven't gotten over open toe boots yet. No way would I consider these.
