oops!

My feet are a size 6-1/2 wide. If I wear shoes with thin socks/barefoot I buy this size shoe. However, in Clarks I have to size down a half size but the width is too narrow for their wide width shoes. I end up taking them to get stretched.

Clarks shoe sizing is inconsistant for me. I wear anywhere from a 7.5 W to an 8 M to an 8.5 M in this brand. I find a lot of their shoes run narrow and I have to try shoes on first before buying them.

@SunValley As you get older, your foot tends to "spread" a bit. I went from an AA to a medium width, which was a good thing since I have more options.

No, it's just in Clarks that I sometimes need a wide. Other brands are fine in a medium. I think it's my high instep that causes the problem. Once the shoes are on they are roomy but wearable.

I found I had to size up two sizes for Clarks.

Clarks sizing is weird. I have never been able to get a good fit. I just avoid the brand now.
