Clarks quality is going down down down

I just reached for A224938. The shoes are in good condition, not much wear on the heel and the upper are fine. To my ALARM, I discovered one of the buttons - the one you put the loop around - had fallen off. SO what I am I supposed to do now? Throw them away. These were not cheap shoes and I am not happy.
