Caring for your leather boots

Saw this video online and wondered what you all do about your boots? My husband gets his leather shoes shined regularly, but I never thought about regular care for my winter leather boots. Do you wear yours into the ground and buy new ones or keep the same ones for years and care and repair them?

How to care for leather boots and find a great deal on them

Re: Caring for your leather boots

Bumping this because of a current experience. I just bought a pair of OTK boots and have no boot shapers for them, like I have for my knee length boots. I read somewhere to try those swim noodles. So I had DH get one, he cut it in half and *voila* I can store them in my closet so they do not  flop over. They will do the job for now.

I haven't done anything to my suede boots but I do use leather conditioner on my smooth leather boots. I'm trying to condition them every two months or so.

I spray the suede ones with proctector and use mink oil on the leather ones.

Ah, suede. They were a real challenge to keep nice back north with all the salt and slush you had to walk through. A good suede brush was important then . Luckilly Forida weather is a lot kinder on our boots.
