Re: Black shoes, white soles?

Generally I like them as long as they aren’t overly thick.

Not just black shoes.

I have a collection of leather sneakers in various colors. And they all have white soles.

Re: Black shoes, white soles?

I don't agree that black shoes with black soles look like work boots.  I have plenty of all-black shoes and none of them even remotely look like work boots.

I also have boots that...look like boots!  As in, winter boots.

I'm not a fan of white soles on black shoes.  I'm in a rural area and white soles will be dingy really fast.  Plus, I just don't like the look!

NO. Black shoes look BETTER with black soles.

When did this become a “trend?” To me, white soles on black shoes look tacky and cheap. The manufacturer is saying that they want to save money by putting the same sole on every color shoe. Ugh.

To answer your question, this has been a thing for quite a few years now.  At first I didn't like it, but then my eyes got used to it over the years.  Now I own black shoes with white soles and like the way they look.  Fashion is always changing.
