Re: Best sandals for bunion?

@fortunequeen  There was a dr. at the University of Chicago Hospital that taught a technique for bunion surgery where the patient did not experience any pain after surgery.  My friend had the surgery and she never needed pain meds.  I am sure they still follow that technique.

I don’t have a bunion, but part of my bone protrudes. I was in a bad car accident and ended up needing 4 ankle . I had good luck with some Trotters sandals. They have adjustable styles. I got my at Nordstrom and Amazon.

@Katcat1, my guess is that would work only in some cases. Many who have bunions also have some other issues. For example, I've had four foot surgeries relate to bunions. One bunion also developed a bone spur. Two of the four surgeries also included fusing the big toes. And for a tailor's bunion (little toe), I had a complicated procedure.

BTW, although it was horrible being unable to walk after surgery, I have never regretted it. I now walk 3 1/2 miles daily!

@suzyQ3   The dr. studied this technique in a European country.  I actually had (I believe it was a deep corn I can't remember) surgery for this corn and I did not need pain meds.  I asked for them anyway because I did not believe I would not feel pain but I did not need the pain pills.  I believe it was the technique used in the cutting method.  Pretty amazing.
