Re: what's for Easter dinner?

@wagirl

After reading your post, I went the other way!  For years I made another turkey and dressing meal we love it so!!!!!

Now, a spiral sliced brown sugar ham.  I think I got turned away from ham other than a sandwich years ago because of those canned Hostess hams, although, homemakers loved them.

Duck breast, wild rice salad with dried cherries and almonds in it, asparagus, and who knows what else.  We've never done a big deal meal at Easter.

We are going to my nephew's home for Easter dinner. They're making ham (which I can't eat), so hoping they have other choices.....and saving room for desert.

@RedTop@cheriere  your posts gave me fond memories of my Mom.  She and my Dad loved those!  My two brothers and one of my sisters loved them too.  Me not so much but I did like the pretty color the eggs were.  Lol!
She would make them often not just for Easter or Christmas..

Thanks for the memories ❤️

Harvard beets, now that's a blast from the past.  My grandma always served them as a side at holiday meals.  I think I still have her recipe for them in a binder somewhere.

LOL, I don't care for the pickled eggs, but I sure love pickled beets.

When I was just out of college, I went to the store to buy beets for a soup bean cornbread dinner I was making.  I learned there sure is a difference in beets and pickled beets lol.  😂

I hadn't ever thought of a beet in a jar or can just automatically not being pickled.  We'd always canned them ourselves at home.😃
