Anymore I use 'cookbooks" just for inspiration. I have a hefty collection from the past that gives me a clear history of where I've been.....vegetarian, Mediterranean, paleo, 80-10-10, keto, raw, fasting, juices, vegetarian ethnic, plant based..,.,No More! Now I make yummy dishes using my own creativity and will search the Internet for inspiration.

My grandmother’s homemade cookbook. Recipes handwritten with love on whatever was available at the time (notecards, scraps of paper, sheets of paper, cardboard, etc). They are 70+ years old. Some are tattered and stained. They are antiques. They are heirlooms. They are priceless to me.

Better Homes & Gardens cookbook was my first cookbook when I got married. I still use it.

@shortbreadlover The original Mennonite Community Cookbook has my heart, because it was always our go-to at home.
My grandmother's recipe for chicken pot pie is in there, and many other of her contemporaries contributed. These days, I have enjoyed many other cookbooks and read them on a regular basis. But, there are some recipes in that book that can't be found anywhere else and are absolutely required on an American Mennonite table.

I don't have a favorite. When I see or hear about a new cookbook that sounds interesting I check it out from the library. If there are several recipes I want to try then I will purchase it from Amazon.

Better Homes and Gardens...the original. It’s old, with years of wear and tear. It continues to tell the history of my cooking.
My other favorite is The Silver Palate Cookbook.

I have a slew of cookbooks; Joy of Cooking, Pillsbury's in the yellow 3-ring binder, Betty Crocker, church groups, schools, themed, those that came with appliances, David's, you name it. Lined up, they take up a good couple feet of space. I honestly can't remember the last time I opened one. Most of what I make are things I'm familiar with or I have recipes saved on my computer. I rarely bake anymore unless I'm taking it somewhere. Once in awhile, I'll go back to my old recipe card file but not much. It's so easy to look for recipes on the Internet if I need one.

This is how I am, too.
I have many old cookbooks that I love.
I also like to look on the Internet for recipes and ideas.
I have gotten some great ideas from right here, and from reading other cooking sites and cooking blogs, too.

I like Bob Wardens pressure cooking books---I got both of them and they have really great recipes. Use them often.
