Nothing new about me making a wacky cake or crazy cake. It's my go- to when needing a cake---It has no milk/butter or eggs. Some call it a depression cake too. The recipe I used this time added baking powder to the ingredients--my original one did not--just baking soda and vinegar.  I've been baking this recipe for prob 40 years now--my Gram/aunt used to bake it.  BUT....... I had soooo many ripe bananas this week---so decided to make a couple banana wacky cakes--and what a fantastic cake it turned out to be. First it looks beautiful--- I added choc chips and walnuts to the top before baking.  Am taking one to friends tonight--having  game night. Should be a winner!!

Re: wacky cake this week----

I have not made Wacky cake in years.  It was the first cake I ever made-- at age 12. I will be 78 tomorrow! Thanks for reminding me of it.  Adding bananas sounds like a yummy addition.

@wagirl  Is a wacky cake a plain recipe and you add the ingredients for a particular flavor?

@wagirl
Would you mind posting the recipe, please. It sounds delicious 😋 and easy. I've never heard of a "wacky cake!" 😅

@Mom2Dogs ---the recipe from my Gram was for a chocolate one, but yes, you can add just about anything---I have made one with pumpkin before. Google wacky/crazy cake recipes--tons will pop up

@Starpolisher --it may be easier to google for a recipe. I went to sweet-little-bluebird dot com--no spaces for the banana recipe.
