if you store       the bagsof unpopped popcorn in the freezer, they will stay fresher longer and pop beter whe  you do pop them.  they won't have as many hulls or unpopped kearnals

i just toss the wrapped packagesin the freezer and then when i want to pop it, i just unwrap and then pop.  it may take a few more mintuesw but the popcorn is fresher

@shortbreadlover - I'm sorry to share that this is an old wives' tale; storing popcorn in the refrigerator or freezer does nothing to sustain freshness and will actually result in more unpopped kernels because cold temperatures negatively affect the water content of the popcorn, making the kernels too dry and unable to fully pop.

Something I must share.     Take a 1,4 cup of butter mictrowave approx

35 seconds just til melted.    add marshmallows,  about double that, and 

microwave approx.  half minute, stir until combined, add a few more 

marshmallow and microwave another 15 seconds,    stir until melted and 

combined,    pour over popcorn and toss until incorporated.

 

Yummmmmm oooooooooo

i have had the best luck keeping my unpopped popcorn in the freezer. it, ifeel, does keep it  fresher then on the shelf.  but each to their own with this
