If you live near a Trader Joes, their Italian and their party meatballs are the best!

Yes. I do not make good meatballs so I buy frozen. We like the flavor of Fast Fixin meatballs. I cannot say this is the brand, but we do like them.

@cookinfreak  What I can tell you is, do not buy the ones here branded 'mama mancici'.

I don't know if you shop at Aldi's or not, but theirs are good. They have regular and Italian-style in their freezer, and both types are good. Smiley Happy

Re: ? on frozen meatballs

[ Edited ]

I just can't get past the hard, compacted TEXTURE of frozen meatballs...I really want to like them, but the feel...then, heaven forbid there is something hard , like a tiny piece of bone...that just gags me!

I am not a picky eater at all, but this is one thing I have trouble getting past....

DH, who does our grocery shopping, has purchased a few brands. I prefer my own.

Simek's has great meatballs. They also have great vegetable or meat lasagne!

Re: ? on frozen meatballs

I saw some really negative comments about the frozen Mama Mancini meatballs that QVC is only too happy to ship out.  I recognized the name as something I had sampled at Costco, sold refrigerated, not frozen, and had really thought it was good.  Perhaps being frozen harms their texture or flavor, because the reviews were not all that great.

Unlike some frozen meatballs, I found them very tender.

So.........next time I went, I picked up a heavy bag of those things, fixed half of them and froze half, and again  thought they were good.  They are very large meatballs and the sauce that they're in is tasty.  I wouldn't buy them every week, but they're worth a try if you shop at Costco.  I'll probaby buy them sometime in the near future......sick of ham, turkey, roast beef after the holidays.

I'm also happy to let Mama Mancini do some cooking for me.....sick of  doing that, too

I also buy the mama mancini at the grocery store and think they're very good.
