what liquid do you usually use in your glaze for your ham?
we have always used pineapple juice, but a friend of mine is coming for easter and she is allergic to pineapple. we are debating between orange juice or apple juice or apple cider. any other suggestions?

@sunshine45 - I don't glaze my ham, but orange or apple juice sound like decent alternatives. Peach nectar or a jar of peach jelly might work too.

Something else to consider is a balsamic glaze either alone or in combination with other ingredients.
If you do a search on the phrase balsamic glaze drizzled over ham there are a lot of recipes for balsamic glaze variations.

I always use melted butter and brown sugar mixed together and brush or pour over ham and I also lay pineapple slices on and around the ham.

In a small saucepan, a cup of brown sugar, 1/3 cup of mustard ( i like grainy for this but dijon or even yellow should work) and a can of Coca Cola.( do NOT use Diet Coke as it will have a weird aftertaste when reduced).
If you want: Add a 1/2 cup bourbon for depth ( tip from the internet). You can also add tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar or Orange or Tart Cherry juice if you want a little acidity to balance the sweet.
Simmer until thickened. About 15 min. Baste on ham every 1/2 hour or so.

Dijon and honey.

A light glaze of balsamic and oil dressing right out of the bottle works.

A glaze including pineapple juice is my favorite. If I'm caught without, I'll use orange juice. It's good too, I just prefer pineapple juice.

I've made this glaze with Dr. Pepper replacing the Coca-Cola.

@Elodie2 Was just going to post the same thing! We have a beekeeper across the road from us and I just went and picked up some honey from her!
