butter cookies ?

I remember as a kid , My mom having these butter cookies that were melt in your mouth. they were pressed, and had usally sprinkles on them, d ifferent colors for different shapes. They were not "spritz" they were more melty then those. I remember my sister and I could just put one in our mouths and let them dissolve. Does anyone have any ideas what they were?
