It is apple season in northern Michigan, and Michigan won last night, so I decided I had better bake hubby a treat. I had to look through my old hand written recipe stash and came up with this. It makes enough to share with my neighbors who no longer bake. Apple Dapple 1 cup shortening 3 cups flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 c milk Mix above asforpie crust. Roll out 1/2 and park to an 11x15 inch jelly roll pan. I used a Pyrex lasagna pan as my fruit pies always juice over. 6 c apples, sliced 1 1/2 c sugar 1 tbsp flour 1 tsp cinnamon 4 tbsp oleo margarine 1beaten egg yolk Arrange apples on crust. Combine other ingredients and sprinkle over apples. I mixed all together except oleo which is sliced over the top. Roll out remaining dough and place over apples. make slices in the top to vent. Brush top with beaten egg yolk; sprinkle with sugar. I combined cinnamon and sugar. Bake 45 minutes at 375.
