Worked my way through Julia's book

Hi, everyone. I think this is the very best site ever. It is so much nicer than talking about fashion and jewelry, which I do. I am now hooked on this site since I love to cook. I am pretty old but when I was young, I bought Julia Child's first book which is Vol. one, The Art of French Cooking. I then traveled through France with my DH and very little kids and fell in love with the food and the country. In 1972-1978 I worked my way through almost every single recipe in her cookbook. We always had family, friends or a mixture over as critics. I would have to go back through the book but I don't remember that anything was less than fabulous. ( I never did see the Julia movie but I would like to.) Then we got Vol. 2 and I am sure I made my way through two thirds of that one. We had wonderful dinner parties because my PTA friends had become my tasters. What a wonderful time that was. I will never forget it. Background from me. I don't cook much anymore. I have a huge, wonderful library of cookbooks and only one daughter-in-law out of three who also loves to cook and she's good. I did cook Christmas dinner but it was more of let's eat and open presents. We downsized and our middle son and his family now live in the big house which is a party house too and I thank my dil for having lots of family parties there.

I am almost new here, I did read and perhaps post though I don't remember what it was. I'd love to do the recipe swap although I trust you young girls more than you should trust me since during our move, 12 years ago, somehow my binder full of my very faves didn't make it here. I think the guy who said he liked to cook when he was moving all of my cookbooks took it. LOL Since we are both old, we eat really healthy most of the time and one can only eat so much 100% whole wheat, fresh steamed vegies, fresh steamed fish until we run to our sushi place near us. Anyhow, I am not online every day but am looking forward to reading your recipes that you are sharing. Take care, all of you, and I'll be back since I am looking for a great Memphis Dry Rib Rub. LOL Very healthy!
