This is a wonderful tasty rub for any type or cut of fresh pork.

I use this rub especially with the whole pork loin roast I do for New Year's Day.

Tonight we had it on a pork tenderloin.  Yum!

Herb Rub

(Betty Crocker 1970 Cookbook)

1 T Salt

1 T Garlic

1 T Marjoram

1 T Sage

Rub the entire piece of pork before grilling, baking, or broiling.  (May need to mix more for large pieces.).

I rarely cook pork but this rub sounds really good.  I made a pork tenderloin in the Instant Pot yesterday and this rub would be very good on it. Thanks!

I haven't eaten pork in years but I checked the calories and it really is a food that would fit into my low carb eating plan. The rub sounds delicious @ECBG . I can't wait to try it. Also, congrats on the weight loss. I follow your thread and it provides a lot of motivation for me. I am 5'8 and 125 lbs but staying that way gets harder and harder. It's always good to read that others are in the same boat....

Thank you.  Pork is an excellent source of thiamine, which is one of the reasons pork is served on New Years traditionally.  The pork is for health, collards the dollars you'll make in the coming year, black eyed peas, the coin you will make in the coming year, and sweet potatoes (I do kahlua candied yams), for health too because of all of the carotene.

With this rub, I would bake the pork chops.  Pork is always at 325 degrees.

Also, the loin cut porkchops have less fat.

Another good meat would be beef "eye of round".  Slightly tougher, it is thinly slices.  I warm slices on a broiler pan slightly, for leftovers, then cut up the leftovers and make stew in the crock pot using beef broth and garlic.

Let me know if you want the method and recipe for medium rare eye of round.Smiley Happy

I also have a wonderful vinegar and oil mixture for grilled chicken.Smiley Happy

PS, You're very light for your height.

Thanks for all the help @ECBG . I am not eating beef anymore because of my Type 1 diabetes of now 50 years. I had two heart attacks, so I was advised to not it but I must confess I do miss it.

The chicken recipe sounds delicious. We eat chicken so often, I am often looking for something to make it tastier.

Thanks again.Heart

@Trinity11

This is my all time fav grilled chicken!

Grilled Chicken

4 pieces of chicken

1 Beaten egg

1/4 C white vinegar

1/2 C oil

1tsp salt

3-4 Tbsp poultry seasoning

Add all ingredients together in a zip lock with chicken.  You may "work" the marinade in pressing the chicken.

Grill chicken, basting often.  Stop basting 15 minutes before serving.
