Are they not the same? I want to make a cheese sauce and I made a roux once and it wasn't lumpy. My Mom used the jar method with flour and milk.I would like to try this method not sure how? And one more thing why is it that some recipes dont use the same amounts of flour and butter I thought it was equal and how do you know how much milk to use? I want to make a basic stovetop Macaroni and Cheese.
