If serving ham this Thanksgiving or Christmas what, if any, ham glaze to you make or use.
Mine is different from others I have seen. Maybe others know of it. My dad loved it, asked for it, until he saw my mom and I making it one day and he would never eat it again. Silly man.
So what do you like to use?

When I used to cook ham I used a mustard and brown sugar glaze.

mine is easy, common and not precise.
ham bakes with can of pineapple(juice and all) and a bit of brown sugar poured over it.
when ham is done, remove an let the drippings cool and take off fat layer.
cook down to syrup in sauce pan:
drippings
cloves
all spice
cinnamon
mustard
brown sugar
i taste it to see if it needs more of anything and add as needed.

I don't really make ham that often and when it is at my house for a holiday it is either HoneyBaked ham (from the HB ham store) or my mom makes it.
She used 2 recipes for glaze over the years. One is Coca Cola with brown sugar and mustard. I think she used about a can of Coke with 1/2 cup of brown sugar, a squeeze of mustard and a little bit of ground cloves. Sounds crazy btu it really is delicious. The other one is either orange juice mixed with equal parts of pineapple juice and brown sugar (also with clove) or just orange juice by itself. That is really good too. I think I actually like the Coke one the best. We NEVER had Coke in our house growing up because my mom was just a complete health food freak and we rarely had recipes she made that had added sugars so I really loved this despite not being a big fan of ham.
The Coke really adds something to this ham that makes it taste so delicious. It is a great caramelizer and gives it a really great and distinct taste.

Hi, @Irshgrl31201.
About using coke in your glaze....
Years ago, I worked w/ an 'old school' chef who ALWAYS used coca cola, not only as part of his ham's glaze, but also in raisin sauce.
I think it was a combination of coke, O.J., Dijon & brown sugar, but I forget the details.
When I'd raised an eyebrow the 1st time I saw him do it, he said 'what's in coke? citrus, vanilla, cinnamon - perfect for ham', & he was right!
I'll bet your mom's ham is delicious!
