What do I do with an avacado?

I'd like to eat with wasa bread and laughing cow cheese.  How much should I have of the avacado with it?  Do you mix avacado with some spice or ???

Thanks.

@qualitygal- becaue they are calorie dense, I just eat half.  I slice them on my salad, or put them on a sandwich.  I have made a salad dressing with them, but not in a while.

Spread some hummus on a tortilla, add fresh spinach, sliced hard boiled egg and sliced avocado.  Roll it into a wrap.

Yum.

I'm sure you can.  I love it so much I just slice it up and eat it. Then again, I do that with most foods.  The farthest I've gone is to spread it on bread in a sandwich in place of mayo. Yummy!   Hope you get lots of Ideas!

For guacamole I mash the avocado then add small amount of olive oil, lemon juice, salt and chopped onion.  I also like to make egg salad with mashed avocado instead of using mayonnaise but remember avocado has a lot of calories and the health benefits won't mean diddly squat if you eat too much of it

I slice my avocados and put them in a salad.  I buy a bag of them from Costco. They seem to get ripe slowly or the two of us would not be able to handle such a "big bag."

In my world avocados are mean't for one thing only Guacamole.  Love it even if not eating Mexican or TexMex food.

I make a avacado/jalapeno salad dressing, not just for salad but I've put it on

grilled chicken and beef.  I put avacado in any type of salad

I make.  I sometimes slice them up and sprinkle with turmeric & pepper and eat

as a side dish.  A couple days ago I made some chicken enchiladas, topped with

diced avacado before serving.  I put them on tacos, fajitas, nachos.  I've added mash

avadado to devil egg mixture.

A couple of Tex-Mex restaurants we visit serve a avacado salsa that is to die for.

I've been searching for a copycat recipe of it.

Oh, and smoothies.  When I have an avacado that is very ripe, I'll add it to a

smoothie.

I guess you could even batter and deep fry - Texans will deep fry anything,

but not something I'm interested in trying.

But talking about this makes me think about zucchini pancakes that I love -

wonder how mashed avacado added to the batter would work??  Will have to

try that out.

edit for SOUPS...cut in small chunks and add to soups.  I especially like them with tortilla soup and tomato soup.  I'll be quiet now.  Smiley Happy

Re: What do I do with an avacado?

delicious mashed on toast with an egg over top. I put them in my smoothies and if I can't use them before they get too ripe or even if they are too ripe, I freeze them for my smoothies. they can go into brownies altho i haven't tried that and also to make a choc moussse--haven't tried that either.I eat prob 1/8 of one at a time. I even chunked them up and mixed them into a chicken burger that was so yummy. In any sandwich or on top of chili or tortilla soup too. In any salads or meal bowls--I use them all the time and very often.
