Watching one of the Vitamix presentations today, I was reminded of when I purchased the TSV not that long ago, and one of the reasons was so I could make soup.

I went on the Vitamix website and they have a lot of recipes for soup, which I printed out and plan to try.

But I was wondering if any of you use your usual recipe for soup in the Vitamix or if you have found some do's or don'ts when using the Vitamix for making soup.

Also, would love for you to post your favorite soup that you make using your Vitamix.

Thanks in advance!

@World Traveler  I put cut up veggies in a glass bowl or measuring cup and nuke them for a bit before putting in the Vitamix.  It's quicker, tastes better and doesn't have so much air whipped in.  I add a tablespoon of cream usually!  LOL!!! Now that's a real tip!

@Sooner Oh, thanks! I would not have thought to do that. Interesting tip. I will try cooking them a little before putting in the Vitamix. Smiley Happy

And the cream.......what kind/type? My mind goes to ice cream! LOL!! Wondering if buttermilk might be good in a recipe. Are you talking about sour cream? Or just regular cream?

The soup recipes I printed out from the Vitamix website are the following:

Buckwheat Black Bean

Cabbage

Zucchini

Butternut Squash

Pumpkin

Cream of Potato

Minestrone

Sweet Potato

They all sound scrumptious to me!

Realize everyone’s using the Vitamix for hot/warm recipes,

but may I suggest a cold soup?  The VitaMix makes it so smooth!

(I posted this in another thread recently).

Green Pea Soup....the peas are so bright green!

Very pretty!

Re: Vitamix Soup Recipes

[ Edited ]

@sidsmom  Thank you for posting this recipe and for mentioning the book it came from.  Both seem excellent.

@World Traveler  Thanks for starting this Vitamix soup thread.  I love my Vitamix and always appreciate new ideas for it.

@Sooner Thanks for the tip.
