When my sister's church has their yearly holiday sale the cookies that sell first are the chocolate chip cookies. Just a fyi.

How about heart shaped cookies with pastel colored royal icing that has messages piped on each one? Like the tiny, colored candy hearts we see sold for valentines day.

I was thinking the same thing and how cute it would be to wrap them in some colored cellophane and tie a ribbon around them.

Grocery stores have almond bark on clearance and you may want to make candies.

@pbb Haven't participated in a bake sale fundraiser in ages, but I know single serve brownies always sold out and browsers would always ask if they were "from scratch" because they could do a box mix so easily and craved home made.
The best baker was also asked to make a fancy "specialty cake" that could be raffled off. One time one of the members made a lamb shaped cake (specialty shaped pan) and we made about $180.00 on that back in the late seventies.

If you have a small (1-1 1/2") heart-shaped cookie cutter, these truffles make a tasty seasonal presentation:
8 oz. milk chocolate, chopped fine
4 oz. bittersweet chocolate, chopped fine
2 tbsp butter
3/4 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp cocoa
Line bottom and sides of 9" square baking pan with foil to overhang edges by 2".
Put chocolates and butter in Pyrex bowl. Bring cream just to boil, then whisk into bowl of chocolate until smooth. Scrape into lined pan and smooth to even layer. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
Cover a plate with parchment. Lift chocolate out of pan by foil edges and place on cutting board. Cut and place heart-shaped candies on plate. Sift cocoa over hearts. Store in airtight container in refrigerator with parchment between layers.
